Leszek Czerwonka is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microeconomics, Faculty of Economics, University of Gdańsk. He serves as Deputy Dean for Research and Head of the Doctoral School at the Faculty of Economics. His research focuses on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, capital structure theories, and behavioral economics. He has held academic roles since 2007, including adjunct positions and leadership roles in university governance.
Education: PhD (2006) and Habilitation (2015) from the University of Gdańsk, specializing in microeconomic models and financial decision-making.
Research interests span capital structure determinants, M&A dynamics, and behavioral aspects of investment decisions. His work frequently examines Polish and EU markets, with a focus on SMEs and financial liquidity.
Recent articles emphasize capital structure theories, working capital management, and macroeconomic influences. He has authored over 30 books and chapters, including influential works on mathematical applications in economics and merger analysis.
Awards include multiple Rektor’s Awards for scientific contributions, ACCA academic excellence, and publishing accolades. He actively participates in international conferences, presenting on topics like corporate governance and market efficiency.
Advisory roles include chairing the Doctoral School and serving on university committees. His work bridges theoretical finance with practical applications in emerging markets.
