Lesley S Pullen is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at SOAS University of London's School of Arts, specializing in Southeast Asian art and material cultures. Her research focuses on medieval trade networks, Buddhist sculptures, and traditional textiles. She holds a PhD (2017) and MA (2008) from SOAS, alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art (1998).

Her research interests span Hindu-Buddhist iconography, Austronesian cultural practices, and preservation of traditional craftsmanship. She has lectured widely at institutions like the V&A Museum and Jnanapravaha Mumbai, and tutors courses on Southeast Asian art and the Maritime Silk Route.
Her recent work connects Buddhist iconography across Central Asia and Java through textile and pearl ornament analysis. She is currently preparing her PhD thesis for publication as a monograph.
Lesley has collaborated with scholars including Dr Christian Luczanits and Prof Elizabeth Moore, and participates in the Southeast Asian Art Academic Programme.
