Lesley Copeland is a Lecturer in Midwifery at the University of York. She has worked in midwifery since qualifying in 2012, including six years as a team leader and ward manager in three NHS trusts. Her expertise focuses on antenatal and postnatal care, with a particular interest in transitional care provision.
- Registered midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
- Completed Professional Midwifery Advocate qualification in 2022
Lesley transitioned to academia after participating in the Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) team within her trust. She previously presented findings from a pilot contraceptive programme at the National Conference of the Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health in 2021.
