معرفی
Leonie Schoofs is a researcher affiliated with the Plant Sciences department at RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. Her work focuses on lignocellulose processing and biomass valorization, particularly through the development of flow-through reactor systems for the OrganoCat process. Key contributions include data curation, formal analysis, and investigation in a 2024 study that demonstrates the effectiveness of a flow-through OrganoCat system for lignocellulosic biomass fractionation. This research explores parameter optimization (temperature, time, flow rate) to enhance lignin and sugar yields while minimizing degradation. The study is part of the Bioeconomy Science Center (BioSC) project LignoTex, supported by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Research interests include
- Renewable resource utilization
- Biomass fractionation technologies
- Chemical process optimization
The work contributes to advancements in
- Lignin extraction
- Hemicellulose sugar recovery
- Continuous flow processing
Project funding was provided by the Bioeconomy Science Center (BioSC) under the NRW Strategieprojekt BioSC. Collaborative efforts involved equipment calibration, sample preparation, and data analysis with colleagues like Dr. Holger Klose and Prof. Walter Leitner.
