Leonie Fernholz is a doctoral student at the University of Cologne and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies as part of the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) since 2023. Her research focuses on the political economy of energy financialization, examining risk transfers and the growing financial influence of energy companies in Europe. Supervised by Christine Trampusch, Fernholz’s work intersects with climate policy and energy market dynamics.
