Leonid Tyan

Leonid Tyan is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine. He holds a PhD from Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (2012). His research focuses on ion channel biology, cellular physiology, and mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias, particularly atrial fibrillation. He investigates the role of caveolae, membrane potential regulation, and calcium signaling in cardiac and cellular contexts. Collaborations include work with David Zenisek, Michael Caplan, and Mustafa Khokha. His studies span from molecular mechanisms to computational modeling of cardiac cells, contributing to understanding arrhythmogenesis and developmental processes.
