معرفی
Leonardo Testi is Full Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Bologna's Department of Physics and Astronomy, where he directs the Astrophysics Technologies Laboratory. A leading expert in star and planet formation, he utilizes cutting-edge observatories including ALMA where he served as European ALMA Programme Manager and Head of the ESO ALMA Support Centre Division.
His research examines protoplanetary disk evolution, dust grain properties, and astrochemical processes in young stellar systems. Current ERC Synergy project ECOGAL develops holistic models of galactic star formation. Professor Testi has authored over 800 publications (h-index 100) and supervised numerous PhD students now at major institutions worldwide.
He serves on scientific boards including the Italian Space Agency and was President of IAU Division H (Interstellar Matter and Local Universe). Recent work combines multi-wavelength observations with simulations to understand planet formation processes.
