Leonard Susskind is the Felix Bloch Professor of Theoretical Physics at Stanford University. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences (USA), American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and associate member of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (Canada). His research spans string theory, quantum field theory, quantum cosmology, and the holographic principle.
Current research focuses on quantum gravity, black holes, and connections between elementary particles and cosmology. Recent work includes quantum teleportation via wormholes and complexity in De Sitter space. Earlier studies explored the string theory landscape (2003) and holographic principles (1995).
Scientific awards include the 1998 J. J. Sakurai Prize and the 2025 Galileo Galilei Medal. He directs the Stanford Institute for Theoretical Physics (since 2009) and has advised PhD student Adel Rahman. Collaborative projects and publications are listed in the full description.
