Alex Buchel is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University, Canada, and an Associate Faculty member at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. His research focuses on quantum gravity, superstring theory, black hole thermodynamics, and holographic approaches to strongly coupled systems. He holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University (1999) and has held postdoctoral positions at UCSB and the University of Michigan. His work bridges theoretical physics with cosmology, exploring topics like de Sitter vacua, gravitational reheating, and holographic quark-gluon plasma dynamics.
