Leon Blumfeldt is an Associate Professor at the Riga Stradiņš University Faculty of Medicine, specifically within the Department of Human Physiology and Biochemistry. With over 35 years of experience, he has held academic roles since 1979 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014 after serving as Assistant Professor from 2009-2014. His research focuses on driver daytime sleepiness as a road safety issue and physical activity in relation to body composition.
