Dr. Leo Tsz Ho Tang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Vermont. He leads the Tang Worm Lab, focusing on understanding the genetic, biochemical, and cellular mechanisms of learning and memory using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism. His work explores the relationship between neuronal network dynamics, behavioral changes, and genetic regulation, particularly focusing on insulin signaling pathways.
Education:
- Ph.D., University of Bristol
- B.Sc., Chinese University of Hong Kong
Research Focus: Neurobiology of learning, insulin signaling in neural systems, and synapse regulation. The lab investigates how environmental cues (e.g., salt, odor, temperature) influence associative learning and how these processes relate to nervous system disorders.
Lab Members: Recent additions include Nori, Nick, and Armand. The lab emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to link neuronal activity with behavior.
Affiliations: Located in the Marsh Life Science Building, Room 316. Joined UVM in August 2024.
