Leo Tsao is a Lecturer in Law at Harvard Law School since 2018 and an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center. He is a partner at Paul Hastings LLP in Washington, D.C., specializing in Investigations & White Collar Defense, Fintech, and Anti-Corruption/FCPA. His practice focuses on corporate compliance, internal investigations, and defense of criminal/regulatory enforcement actions related to anti-money laundering (AML), cryptocurrency, and economic sanctions. He previously held senior roles at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), including Principal Deputy Chief of MLARS and Chief of the Bank Integrity Unit, where he led enforcement against financial institutions and drafted the DOJ Cryptocurrency Enforcement Framework.
