Professor Lenny Koh is a Chair Professor in Operations Management at the University of Sheffield Management School. She holds leadership roles as Director of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) Research Centre, the Advanced Resource Efficiency Centre (AREC), and the Centre for Energy, Environment and Sustainability (CEES). Her expertise spans low-carbon supply chains, sustainability, and resource efficiency, with a focus on translational research bridging innovation and application. She co-founded the SCMIS Consortium to advance global supply chain and information systems collaboration.
Education: BEng (Hons), PhD. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
Research Interests: Professor Koh’s work intersects supply chain management with environmental sustainability, energy systems, and climate change mitigation. Key areas include decarbonization of industries, enhanced rock weathering for CO₂ removal, circular economy frameworks, and resilience in energy and food systems. She leads large-scale projects like the £15M BIG Energy Upgrade and the £60M Centre for Low Carbon Futures.
Publications: Her 200+ publications focus on life cycle assessments, supply chain resilience, and policy impacts. Recent work addresses hydrogen economies, food waste reduction, and renewable energy integration.
Awards: Recognized as a world-leading authority with a world-leading H-index (ranked #2 globally in her field). She has secured over £100M in research funding across EPSRC, EU, and industry partnerships.
Grants & Leadership: Principal Investigator on major grants including the EU-funded SCOT (£2.5M) and MOD defense logistics projects (£3M). She chairs the University’s Strategic Futures initiative on resource sustainability.
Labs & Teams: Leads multi-disciplinary teams at AREC, CEES, and the Energy Institute, fostering industry-academia partnerships for innovation. Current projects include hydrogen supply chain resilience and carbon-neutral campus initiatives.
