Lena Westen

Lena Westen (born Zdun) is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences and the Department of Mathematics. Her research focuses on applied mathematics within the context of medical imaging, emphasizing inverse problems, magnetic particle imaging, and image reconstruction techniques. She has been part of the research group for Mathematical Methods in Medical Imaging, supervised by Prof. Dr. Christina Brandt, since October 2020.

Her work explores primal-dual splitting approaches as computational tools for solving complex imaging challenges. These methods are critical for enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of image reconstruction algorithms in medical diagnostics.
