Ivan Yaroslavtsev

Dr. Ivan Yaroslavtsev is a Researcher at the University of Hamburg's Department of Mathematics, within the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences. His primary research focuses on stochastic analysis, functional analysis, and probability theory, with a particular emphasis on Banach spaces, martingales, and stochastic calculus. He holds a PhD in Mathematics (cum laude) from TU Delft (2019) and a Diploma in Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (2014).

Yaroslavtsev's academic roles include a Postdoc position at the University of Hamburg since October 2024, preceded by a substitute professorship (April-September 2024) and prior postdoc positions at the University of Hamburg and the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MPI MiS) in Leipzig. His work bridges theoretical stochastic processes with applications in infinite-dimensional analysis and mathematical physics.

His research interests span martingale theory, stochastic partial differential equations, UMD Banach spaces, and Fourier multipliers. He has contributed to foundational studies on Burkholder-Davis-Gundy inequalities, Hilbert transforms in Banach spaces, and the UMD property in Musielak–Orlicz spaces. His 2018-2019 Stieltjes Prize recognized his contributions to stochastic analysis in Banach spaces.

His current research explores stabilization by transport noise, enhanced dissipation in fluid models, and applications of stochastic calculus in infinite dimensions.
