Lena Meyer serves as a Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf within the Peter Behrens School of Arts, part of the Department of Architecture & Design.

Her research focuses on sustainable material innovation and environmental solutions, with core expertise in:

• Sustainable Design methodologies integrating ecological principles
• Plastic recycling technologies and waste stream optimization
• Circular economy models for urban material flows
• Community-driven environmental initiatives

As Scientific Staff for the Precious Plastic initiative, she develops open-source recycling systems that empower local communities to transform plastic waste into valuable resources through accessible hardware and knowledge sharing.
