Lena Dräger

Professor Lena Dräger holds the Chair of Money and International Finance at Leibniz University Hannover and leads the Monetary Macroeconomics research group at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Her research examines macroeconomic expectation formation, central bank communication strategies, and household financial decision-making using survey-based methodologies.

Current projects investigate inflation literacy, expectation anchoring during economic shocks, and political influences on macroeconomic perceptions. Methodologies combine large-scale household surveys with experimental approaches to analyze expectation heterogeneity.

Teaching encompasses monetary policy, international financial markets, and financial regulation courses at both undergraduate and PhD levels. Current third-party funded projects examine inflation expectations in relation to economic preferences and household awareness of ECB strategies.
