Lena Ballone Duran

Lena Ballone Duran is an Associate Professor at Bowling Green State University's School of Inclusive Teacher Education. Her expertise spans science education across Pre K-12 levels, with a focus on professional development for science educators and innovative teaching strategies.

Duran's work is exemplified by her 2014 presentation on the STEM in the Park program, which demonstrates her commitment to creating accessible STEM learning environments through curriculum innovation and community partnerships.

Active in professional service, she co-directs BGSU's STEM in the Park program and participates in the Northwest Ohio Coalition of STEM Outreach (NWO COSMOS). She has taught multiple graduate and undergraduate courses at BGSU since 1999, including Secondary Science Methods and Curriculum Inquiry.
