Lemma Bulto is an Adjunct Professor affiliated with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Caring Futures Institute. His academic journey includes a PhD (2017–2021) from the University of Adelaide and prior degrees from Haramaya University, Ethiopia (BSc Nursing 2010, MSc Nursing 2013). His research focuses on chronic cardiovascular care models, healthcare equity, and implementing novel interventions to improve patient outcomes. He has contributed to improving cardiovascular services in Ethiopia and has led studies on self-management adherence for chronic conditions.
Key achievements include the Beacon of Enlightenment PhD Scholarship (2017), Dean's Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence (2021), and multiple awards for impactful publications. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing education and global health equity.
Research interests span cardiovascular disease management, digital health innovations, global burden analysis, and systematic reviews. Notable collaborations include studies on pulmonary arterial hypertension, stroke rehabilitation, and genetic risk communication. He advocates for strengthening nursing education in Africa to combat cardiovascular epidemics.
Recent articles highlight interventions for women's cardiac rehabilitation, stroke self-management, and addressing healthcare disparities for immigrant populations. Lemma co-leads initiatives at the Caring Futures Institute to advance clinical excellence and equitable healthcare delivery.
