Dr. Leila Gholizadeh is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where she has served since 2009 and coordinated the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery (Hons) Program since July 2023. She previously held academic roles at Curtin University of Technology (2009–2012) and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (2001–2005).

Her research focuses on cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, emphasizing risk perception, causal attributions, medication adherence, and self-care behaviors. She investigates CVD disparities in women and culturally diverse populations, including post-pregnancy complications and socio-cultural influences on health outcomes. Recent projects include optimizing CVD health outcomes for women with pregnancy complications through collaborations with Mahidol University, Thailand.
Her 15 most recent publications (2022–2025) span CVD prevention, stroke rehabilitation (with soymilk and exercise), depression screening in cardiac patients, workplace stress in educators and healthcare workers, and health equity for asylum-seekers. Key methodologies include cross-sectional surveys, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and qualitative interviews.
