Leila Dorling is a researcher in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge, specializing in breast cancer genetic epidemiology. She works within the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology and has been a key contributor to the Breast Cancer Association Consortium and the Radiogenomics Consortium. Her research focuses on refining breast cancer risk estimates through pedigree analysis and investigating genetic variants associated with treatment toxicity.
Research Highlights:
- Quantifying risks of protein truncating and missense variants in breast cancer genes
- Developing and validating risk prediction models like CanRisk
- Analyzing radiation and chemotherapy-induced toxicity through GWAS
- Investigating hereditary cancer syndromes and global genetic associations
Teaching & Collaboration: Supervises students and teaches on the MPhil in Population Health Sciences. Active in international collaborations including BRIDGES project and 113,000+ woman breast cancer risk study.
