Leigh Martindale is a Lecturer in Sustainable Geographies at Loughborough University and member of the Centre for Sustainable Transitions: Energy, Environment and Resilience (STEER). He holds a PhD from Lancaster University on 'ecological civilization' in China, funded by ESRC and EU's I-RICE program.
His research integrates sustainable development, climate change, and energy-water-land nexus modeling to empower vulnerable Global South communities. Recent work advances CLEWs (Climate-Land-Energy-Water systems) modeling frameworks and qualitative-quantitative integration in energy planning. Educational initiatives apply nexus thinking to teach complex sustainability challenges.
