Lei Yu

Lei Yu is a Centennial Professor at the University of Connecticut in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California-Riverside in 2004.

Dr. Yu focuses on developing biosensors for biomedical, environmental, and agricultural applications. His work emphasizes ultrasensitive detection platforms and nanomaterial synthesis for sensing technologies.

His recent publications highlight advancements in microbial fuel cells, microfluidic SERS sensors, fluorescent nanofibers for explosives detection, and hybrid nanomaterials for glucose sensing. These articles span interdisciplinary fields including environmental monitoring, nanotechnology, and analytical chemistry.
