Lei Lei

Lei Lei is Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at University of New England. He teaches courses in cell biology, developmental biology, and neurobiology, receiving the Debra J. Summers Teaching Award in 2018.

Research examines:

• Transcriptional regulation in neural development
• Evolutionary origins of transfer RNA and genetic code

Published the monograph 'The God Molecule: Evolution of tRNA and the Genetic Code' presenting theories on molecular origins of life. Research integrates molecular biology with evolutionary theory.
