Dr. Lei Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where she has been since August 2022. Her research bridges environmental engineering, chemistry, and materials science to address global environmental challenges.
- Education
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of California, Berkeley (2019)
- B.S. in Chemistry, Lanzhou University, China (2014)
Dr. Guo’s research focuses on developing innovative materials and devices for environmental applications, including:
- Treatment of emerging micropollutants like PFAS
- Resource recovery from wastewater
- On-site water and wastewater treatment systems
Her work leverages chemistry to understand fundamental principles and design solutions. Recent research trends emphasize PFAS capture and physicochemical property studies funded by SERDP.
- Scientific Awards
- SERDP funding for PFAS research
Dr. Guo supervises students like Annie and Minshu, who have presented at AEESP and delivered departmental seminars. She actively engages in collaborations, including a recent visit to NJIT’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
The Guo Lab at the University of Arkansas focuses on creating materials and devices for environmental engineering, with ongoing projects in PFAS remediation and wastewater treatment technologies.
