Dr. Lei Zhang is a Research Fellow in Innovative and Energy-Efficient Biological Wastewater Treatment at the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Technology from Wageningen University. His research focuses on anaerobic digestion systems, microbial community dynamics, and sustainable wastewater treatment technologies. Key areas include optimizing bioreactor performance, phosphorus recovery, and energy-efficient processes like ozonation integration. Dr. Zhang has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed articles, exploring topics such as granular activated carbon applications, microbial syntrophy, and low-temperature anaerobic digestion.
