Dr. Lei Fang is a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London's School of Mathematical Sciences, serving as Deputy Head of the Centre for Mathematical Education and Deputy Director of Education. She is also a member of the University Senate and chairs the GenAI Working Party of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Her work bridges academia and industry, focusing on digital transformation, systemic risk management, and AI applications in actuarial science and education.
Her research explores digital divides in higher education, AI integration in pedagogy, and risk management strategies. She has been recognized with awards including the International Prize of the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation (2023) and the Sir Edward Johnson Prize (2013). Her public engagement includes speaking at events like the Nigeria–UK Education Dialogue.
Dr. Fang supervises doctoral students in AI-driven risk analytics and pedagogical innovation, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches. She contributes to curriculum design and actively participates in academic governance, reflecting her commitment to advancing education and research excellence.
