LeeAnn Lands is a Professor of History at Kennesaw State University (KSU), holding academic ranks since 2001, including Assistant Professor (2001–2006), Associate Professor (2006–2018), and current Professor (2018–present). She specializes in 20th-century US urban history, focusing on housing, antipoverty work, and segregation. Lands earned her Ph.D. in History from Georgia Tech (2001), M.A. from Florida Atlantic University (1995), and B.S.E. from the University of Florida (1991).
Her research explores urban development, housing policies, and social justice, with notable works like *The Culture of Property* (2009) and *Poor Atlanta* (2023). She has been recognized with multiple awards, including the KSU Foundation Distinguished Service Award (2011) and the Regents’ Teaching Excellence Award nomination (2015).
Lands engages in public scholarship through projects like *The Peoplestown Project* (2009–2011) and *Taking Place: South Rome* (2006–2007), blending academic research with community engagement. Her courses cover American identities, cultural history, and social justice movements.
