Lee Shepstone

Lee Shepstone is Professor of Medical Statistics at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, where he also serves as Director of Population Health. His academic background includes a Mathematics BSc from Leicester Polytechnic (1992), MSc in Medical Statistics from Leicester University (1993), and PhD from University of Bristol (1998). His career progression includes positions as Lecturer (1998-2002), Senior Lecturer (2002-2004), and Reader in Medical Statistics (2004-present).

Research focuses on clinical trials methodology with applications in rheumatology and orthopaedics. Key interests include:

• Clinical trials design and implementation
• Statistical methods in health research
• Quantitative analysis in medical contexts

Shepstone leads the clinical trials research sub-group at the Institute of Health and belongs to multiple research units including Norwich Epidemiology Centre and Health Services and Primary Care. He teaches research methods in the MBBS medical degree program and MSc in Health Sciences.
