Lee S. McDaniel

Dr. Lee S. McDaniel is an Assistant Professor (tenured) in the Department of Biostatistics & Data Science at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. He holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2014), an MS in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary (2008), and a BS in Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (2006), with a supporting emphasis in Economics.

His research focuses on biostatistical methodologies applied to clinical trials, survival analysis, and medical data visualization. Key areas include neuroinflammation in HIV/AIDS research, surgical outcomes in head and neck cancer, and predictive modeling for respiratory conditions like laryngotracheal stenosis. His work frequently bridges statistical rigor with clinical applications in oncology, otolaryngology, and immunology.

Teaching responsibilities include advanced courses such as Survival Analysis, Design and Analysis of Experiments, and Data Visualization, reflecting his expertise in statistical methodologies. He has contributed to peer-reviewed journals like AIDS, Head and Neck, and Statistics in Biopharmaceutical Research.
