Leah VanWey is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at Brown University, specializing in household demography and interdisciplinary research on population-environment interactions. She co-directs a research project in Bahia, Brazil with Professor Stephen Porder (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology), focusing on agricultural intensification and environmental correlates. Her roles include former Associate Director at the Population Studies and Training Center and Senior Deputy Director at the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. Currently, she advises the Provost’s office on space and fund allocations for campus renovations.
