Leah Macaden

Dr. Leah Macaden is a Lecturer in Health Sciences at the University of Stirling's Highland & W.Isles campus. With over two decades of experience in nursing academia, she previously held the rank of Professor at the Christian Medical College, Vellore (India). Her roles include teaching on the MSc in Health and Wellbeing of the Older Person and coordinating the PG Module on dementia care. She developed the 'Being Dementia Smart' curriculum embedded in pre-registration nursing programs. Her research focuses on aging, sensory impairment in older adults, diabetes, global health, and nurse education.

She serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Clinical Nursing and International Journal of Older People Nursing, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. Notable recognitions include her Senior Fellowship from the UK Higher Education Academy (2016). Her teaching and research collaborations involve NHS Highland, Alzheimer Scotland, and Diabetes Scotland.
