معرفی
Leah K. Morabito is a Professor at Durham University, affiliated with the Centre for Extragalactic Astronomy and the Institute for Computational Cosmology. She is a Radio Astronomer and UKRI Future Leaders Fellow specializing in low-frequency radio observations.
Her research focuses on high-resolution imaging of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) using the LOw Frequency ARray (LOFAR) to investigate how supermassive black holes co-evolve with and shape their host galaxies. She leads the LOFAR Imaging of Resolved AGN (LIRA) group, which leverages unique low-frequency data to advance understanding of AGN feedback mechanisms in galaxy evolution.
Her major recognition includes the prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship supporting her high-resolution radio survey work. She also serves as co-Principal Investigator of the LOFAR2.0 Large Programme extending this research.
Dr. Morabito leads the LIRA research group and is instrumental in the LOFAR2.0 project development, driving innovation in low-frequency radio astronomy methodology and data analysis techniques for extragalactic studies.
