Leah Brennan

Leah Brennan is a Sessional Academic and Researcher affiliated with the School of Behavioural and Health Sciences within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research predominantly focuses on eating disorders, obesity, bariatric surgery outcomes, and psychosocial factors influencing health behaviors. She has extensively contributed to studies on disordered eating patterns, weight management interventions, and clinical trials evaluating dietary strategies. Her work also explores psychological correlates of bariatric surgery, including post-operative outcomes and predictors of long-term success.

Her research integrates behavioral interventions, such as peer mentoring programs, and examines systemic issues like weight stigma and its impact on mental health. She collaborates on international guidelines for conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), emphasizing evidence-based practices and improving quality of life for affected populations.
