Leaf Kardol is a PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia's School of Human Sciences, supervised by A/Prof. Caitlin Wyrwoll, Dr Erin Kelty, Dr Sarah Bourke, and Dr Christine Jeffries-Stokes. They hold roles as Casual Teaching (Multi-Discipline) and Research Assistant within the School. Their research focuses on nitrate exposure in water and its effects on pregnancy, labor, and offspring outcomes, alongside broader interests in climate change impacts on reproductive health and health equality for marginalized groups.

Research Interests: Leaf's work integrates environmental toxicology with public health, exploring how contaminants like nitrate affect maternal and fetal health. They also advocate for inclusive medical education to better serve transgender and neurodivergent communities. Their UN SDG contributions include advancing health equity (SDG 3) and sustainable cities/water management (SDG 6).
