Lawrence H. Goulder is the Shuzo Nishihara Professor in Environmental and Resource Economics at Stanford University with emeritus status. He directs the Stanford Center for Environmental and Energy Policy Analysis and holds affiliations as Senior Fellow at Stanford's Institute for Economic Policy Research and Precourt Institute for Environment. His research employs general equilibrium frameworks to analyze environmental policy impacts across economic sectors and income groups.
Research Focus: Designs environmental tax systems, emissions trading policies, climate change mitigation, and green accounting methods. Collaborates with climatologists and biologists to integrate economic and environmental systems.
