Lawrence D. Bobo is the W. E. B. Du Bois Professor of the Social Sciences and Dean of Social Science at Harvard University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds dual appointments in Sociology and African and African American Studies. His research bridges social psychology, political sociology, and race relations, with notable work on public opinion dynamics and structural inequality.
Education & Appointments: Tenured positions previously held at University of Wisconsin-Madison, UCLA, and Stanford University. Served as Director of Stanford's Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity.
Research Focus: Interdisciplinary exploration of racial attitudes, political conflict, urban inequality, and the intersection of group position and public policy.
