Lawrence Corey

Lawrence Corey is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Washington, with additional affiliations as Professor in Medicine and Laboratory Medicine. He works at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and focuses on virology and immunology research.

His research spans transitional and laboratory-based studies on herpesviruses (HSV, CMV, HHV-8), HIV, and Hepatitis C. Key areas include T cell immune responses, pathogenesis, vaccine development, and virology in immunocompromised populations like bone marrow transplant patients.

Corey obtained his M.D. from the University of Michigan and leads the Division of Virology within Laboratory Medicine and the Program in Infectious Diseases at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
