Lavin Kadir is a Research Fellow and PhD candidate at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Medicine, affiliated with the Section for Pharmaceutics and Social Pharmacy. Their research focuses on clinical decision support systems in Norwegian hospitals, with an emphasis on pediatric medication management and digital tool risks/benefits. Kadir holds a Cand.Pharm degree and has extensive teaching experience in social pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, and public health at the University of Oslo. They co-developed national guidelines for antibiotic use counseling in pharmacies through collaboration with the Norwegian Pharmacy Association and Antibiotic Center for Primary Medicine.
Academic contributions include pioneering the "Pharmacy Stories" project (2019–present), which digitizes and disseminates Norwegian pharmacy history through oral recordings and videos. This initiative addresses gaps in pharmacy history education and aims to preserve professional heritage. Kadir's work bridges clinical practice, technology, and historical context, emphasizing patient safety and interprofessional education.
Teaching roles include courses on pharmacy's societal role, advanced pharmacotherapy, and ethics. Their research integrates digitalization trends with medication error prevention strategies in pediatric settings. Kadir's interdisciplinary approach combines clinical pharmacy expertise with innovative educational methodologies, supported by grants from the Foundation for the Promotion of Norwegian Pharmacy.
