Laurie Elit is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University, serving as Division Head of Gynecologic Oncology for Hamilton Health Sciences Centre - Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre. Her research focuses on health services research for gynecologic cancers, global health initiatives, and cervical cancer screening in low-resource settings.

- Lead author on 15+ recent publications spanning cervical cancer prevention, surgical outcomes, and palliative care ethics

Her clinical trials investigate PET scan utility in cervical cancer, LEEP for CIN 1, and systemic therapies for ovarian cancer. She has implemented cervical screening programs in Mongolia through EPOS Health Management and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
