معرفی
Laurie Eberhardt is a Professor of Biology at Valparaiso University, specializing in behavioral ecology and environmental science. Her career spans research on plant-animal interactions, bird behavior, and emerging environmental threats like microplastic pollution.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Florida (1994, 1990), B.S. from Earlham College (1985)
Eberhardt’s research focuses on ecological interactions and anthropogenic impacts on aquatic and avian species. Recent work examines how microplastics affect mollusk behavior, while earlier studies investigated foraging patterns in yellow-bellied sapsuckers.
Her recent publications center on microplastic pollution in Lake Michigan watersheds, emphasizing water-sediment-air dynamics and educational applications for environmental monitoring. Earlier work includes foundational studies on invasive plant morphology and avian behavior.
Laurie actively engages in science education, developing inquiry-based lab curricula for undergraduate students and promoting replication of field methods as pedagogical tools.
