Laurie Dringus, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Computing at Nova Southeastern University's College of Computing & Engineering. She specializes in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), user experience design, and online learning. Since 1983, she has contributed to advancing online education and served as Editor-in-Chief of The Internet and Higher Education (1998-2014). She has held leadership roles in conferences such as the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Accelerate 2017 and 2016. Dr. Dringus has been recognized with the OLC Fellowship and CCE Distinguished Professor award. Her research focuses on usability, privacy/security in technology, and senior users' interaction with digital systems.
Her work bridges HCI with healthcare technologies, emphasizing accessibility and socio-technical contexts. She co-earned a President's Faculty Research Grant (2017-2018) and has mentored students like Dr. Harold Henke, who established a scholarship in her honor. Dr. Dringus' scholarly contributions span journals and conferences addressing UX evaluation, blended learning, and privacy impact assessments.
