Laurie Buys is Professor of Healthy Ageing at Australian Catholic University's Faculty of Health Sciences, with previous leadership roles including Professor and Director of Healthy Ageing Initiative at University of Queensland. Her research explores the impacts of physical, social and cultural changes on individuals, focusing on transdisciplinary approaches to create sustainable community outcomes.
She has served as National President of the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) and holds AAG Fellow and Distinguished Member honors. Buys collaborates extensively with community organizations and government agencies to investigate dynamics of liveable communities.
