Laurent Cohen-Tanugi is a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School (SLS). With over 40 years in international corporate law, he has held senior roles at Cleary Gottlieb, Skadden, and as General Counsel of Sanofi. He specializes in cross-border M&A and corporate transactions, which he has taught at SLS. Since founding his boutique firm in 2010, he became a rare practitioner appointed as an independent anti-corruption compliance monitor by the U.S. DOJ/SEC and World Bank. His work bridges legal practice and policy, focusing on multi-jurisdictional white-collar crime and compliance.
He is a prolific author, having written over a dozen books and articles on democracy, European affairs, transatlantic relations, and geopolitics. His latest work, «Droits sans frontières», examines extraterritorial legal applications. He actively engages in European and international policy initiatives.
Teaching includes courses on International Business Transactions and Regulation and Litigation. His career spans roles as a member of the Paris and New York Bars, and he advises on global legal and compliance strategies.
