Professor Laurent Billot is a Professor within the Faculty of Medicine at UNSW Sydney and Director of the Biostatistics and Data Science Division at The George Institute for Global Health. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in designing and analyzing large-scale clinical trials in critical care, cardiovascular, neurological, and musculoskeletal diseases. His expertise spans biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, and clinical trial design. He holds qualifications including a Master of Science in Statistics and Computer Science, a Master of Research in Public Health (Biostatistics), and accreditation as an Accredited Statistician by the Statistical Society of Australia (AStat).
His research interests focus on the application of biostatistics to clinical trials, emphasizing rigorous methodologies to improve healthcare outcomes. He has received prestigious awards, including multiple ACTA Excellence in Trial Statistics awards and the George Institute Integrity Award. Professor Billot supervises students in clinical trials and biostatistics, contributing to advancing methodologies in trial design and analysis.
