Laurence M. Ball is a Professor of Economics at Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts & Sciences, Department of Economics. He holds affiliations as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a consultant for the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He has held visiting roles at central banks including the Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, Bank of Japan, Bank of England, and Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
Education: PhD in Economics from MIT.
Research Interests: Focuses on macroeconomic topics such as unemployment mechanisms, inflation dynamics, fiscal and monetary policy frameworks, and financial regulation.
