Laurence Helfer

Laurence Helfer is a Professor at Duke Law School and co-director of its Center for International and Comparative Law. He is also a permanent visiting professor at iCourts: Center of Excellence for International Courts at the University of Copenhagen. As an independent expert on the UN Human Rights Committee (2023–2026), he applies legal scholarship to real-world human rights challenges through treaty analysis, case law, and global interviews.
