Lauren Parsons

Dr. Lauren Parsons is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Medical Director of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Children’s Wisconsin. She specializes in pediatric cytopathology, surgical pathology, placental pathology, and perinatal/pediatric autopsy. She leads the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program and directs the pediatric pathology fellowship. Her clinical and research interests focus on pediatric renal tumors, thyroid nodules/cancer, and minimally invasive biopsy techniques.

Education: MD from Medical College of Wisconsin (2009), residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (2010–2015), fellowships in Cytopathology (2013–2014) and Pediatric Pathology (2015–2016).

Research priorities include pediatric cytopathology innovation, renal tumor prognostication, and clinical trial development through her role with the Children’s Oncology Group Renal Tumor Committee. Publications span 200+ citations in pediatric pathology, oncology, and global health.

Professional service includes roles as central pathology reviewer for COG renal trials and contributor to multidisciplinary thyroid program guidelines. Her work emphasizes improving diagnostic accuracy and equity in pediatric pathology globally.
