Dr. Lauren Mault is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Belmont Abbey College. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Tennessee with a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner concentration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on the impact of social disparities on pediatric populations, emphasizing health equity initiatives in nursing education and practice.
Dr. Mault teaches courses such as NU303 (Nursing Care of the Family) and NU668 (Clinical Dimensions of Advanced Practice Education). She is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care and a Pediatric Nurse. Her professional affiliations include Sigma Theta Tau, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the Society of Pediatric Nurses.
In her research, she has explored educational interventions to shape student perceptions of health disparities, as evidenced by a 2018 poster presentation at the Xavier University College of Pharmacy Health Disparities Conference. She prioritizes fostering passion and confidence in nursing students, emphasizing their future roles in addressing systemic inequities in pediatric care.
