Lauren Howard

Lauren Howard is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), holding this position since Fall 2023. She has extensive academic experience, including roles as Lecturer at Auburn University's College of Human Sciences (2017–2023), and Adjunct Professor positions at Columbus State University, Auburn University, and the University of Tampa. Her professional background includes roles such as Studio Manager at Opelika Art Haus and Assistant Preparator at the Contemporary Museum of Art in Tampa.

Howard holds an M.F.A. in Art from the University of South Florida and a B.F.A. in Art/Drawing from the University of Georgia. Her research and creative work focus on contemporary art practices, with exhibitions spanning solo and group showcases across institutions like Sager Reeves Gallery, Fieldwork Projects, and the Morean Art Center. Notable exhibitions include Untitled: New Work (2022) and Habitual Humility, Humidity, and Ghosts (2014).

Her awards include the Artist in Residence at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and a Fellowship for Artistic Merit at the Vermont Studio Center. She is actively involved in organizations such as the Art Haus Board of Directors, Interior Design Educators Council, and EyeSplice Artist Collective. Her work explores themes of identity, cultural critique, and artistic innovation, reflected in her exhibitions and publications.
